I enjoyed reading your contribution to this oft re-addressed topic. In biological systems, my vision of entrophy is the progression of changes at the time of birth and culminates after a slow accumulation of physico-genetic damage until system failure; dependent upon the expected liftime of a sytem. be it E coli or humans. This may sound juvenile and tautological but I view entropy beyonf the 2nd Law, e.g. we can agree that our Universe had a beginning (how,? why?, Big Bang) and to date scientists have aleardy predicted that it will die in ~5 billion years.
